It was such a wonderful weekend with many marvelous things to talk about!

Let’s get started…

Marvelous is starting off the weekend with a work happy hour at P.F. Chang’s. It’s 100% confirmed that I’m the person who says they will stay for just one drink and then never lives up to that. I was one of the last to leave! But we only stayed until 9 which wasn’t too bad.

Me and Ryan

Marvelous is trying out the new Shake Shack in Boca Raton! I’ve only seen this burger chain in the movie Something Borrowed and in Miami. Apparently this location has been open for two weeks and it was news to me when they opened one not too far away!

My sister is visiting this week, and this was the perfect thing for us to do! The line out the door wasn’t too bad. It doesn’t hurt when the employees are passing out custard samples to those in line. :)

Shake Shack Boca Raton

The highlights of Shake Shack’s menu include burgers with the fixings and shakes crafted from homemade custard. I overheard a woman in line stating that she wanted to mix peanut butter and chocolate flavors into one creamy concoction. This inspired me to do the same thing! It tasted like a mix of the peanut butter and chocolate yogurtland flavors I usually mix together.

Shake Shack's Shakes

For my meal, I ordered the Shack Stack, which is a cheeseburger of one patty and one cheese-stuffed portobello. The cheese oozing out of the portobello was oh-so-hot and my mouth paid for it! I realized after that there is a caution sticker on the wrapper, warning patrons of the hot burger temps. Most burgers include their Shack Sauce, which is a spicy mayonnaise, according to the girl at the counter. I typically only go for any type of mayonnaise with my sushi, but I decided to go for it this time. I really didn’t taste a difference with the sauce, which is ok by me!

Other perks for the Shake Shack? The employees are super friendly, the establishment is clean and there’s a water station for free water refills – a perk that is right up Ryan’s alley! (I donated $2 for a free shake coupon on my next visit – a perfect excuse for us to return!)

If there’s a Shake Shack near you, I highly recommend visiting the location soon, just to satisfy the summertime, burger-and-shake feeling that is coming on. We had so much fun!

After checking out the Shake Shack, we hopped next door to Nordstorm Rack. I had never been to this location until today and it was amazing! I picked up a pair of Sam Edelman sandals and Nike sneaks for $100! Sneakers usually go for the price of both combined, so I thought that was a win. I also had a Visa gift card, so my total fell down to $50. I was impressed with my shopping skills.

New Nike Sneakers

Marvelous is trying out my new sneakers in a step class on Sunday morning. I was up bright and early to beat the crowds and get in a workout. This routine is not usual for a weekend Cinco de Mayo! Looks like someone is getting old!

What was marvelous about your weekend?

Ever seen the movie Something Borrowed? Have you heard of Shack Shack before now?

Don’t Let Comparison Steal Your Joy

don't let comparison steal your joy

Happy Saturday!  Quotes about comparison have really spoken to me lately. Theodora’s post last week also hits the nail on the head. It’s so easy to look at others Facebook, Twitter and other social media updates and compare a fabulous life to your own life that you do not recognize as fabulous. (Source) “But that [...]

Workout Check-in Week of 4/29

There is no force equal to that of a determined woman

Time for my workout check-in! Even when the pouring rain hits at 5 o’clock I haven’t let that stop me from driving to the gym for a post-9-to-5 workout. Sometimes I question why BodyPump and other gym routines have become an obsessive habit of mine. I find myself answering is because these workouts give me [...]

Parkland's 50th Anniversary Fireworks

Um, can you believe it’s already May???? I know that is so cliche to say, but I seriously believe it was JUST the first of April. I’ve had some stressful times at work in order to meet a big project deadline, but I think I’ve handled it very well. The project is continuing into the [...]
